A wall-based woven piece exploring discarded andrepurposed materials. The weft is a handmade cordage using warp ends from previous projects and threads from offcuts from the ‘No Away’ piece. The linen warp is industry waste yarn. From a collection of work exploring the value we place on materials.

Walking Blickling is a collection of basketry pieces made in response to walking and gathering in the grounds and gardens of Blickling Hall. Materials such as daffodil, crocosmia and sweet flag leaves are gathered, dried and made into cordage that is woven into textured nest-like forms.

NOTES ON CARE

Textile: Avoid placing textile work with natural dye in direct sunlight. When not open, cover work to keep clean as framed without glass. Basketry: Take care when handling basketry pieces as textured surface is fragile. Keep dry and away from damp. Colours of the materials will gently fade.
