As a visitor or an inhabitant, one feels the vastness of the sky here. It is a remarkable component of Norfolk’s landscape. The quality of the light combined with the reflectivity of the water and its ebb and flow, creates a sense of impermanence, unlike any other part of the British Isles. The marginal areas of the North Norfolk coast with its tidal marshes, creaks and inlets have inspired artists for as long as they have been living here.
