Pop, Rock, Paper Scissors

Rowan Mantell, Eastern Daily Press, 19 June 2021
A big thank you to Rowan Mantell of the EDP for an enthusiastic article highlighting the work of Norwich-based pop artist Colin Self. He is one of the most celebrated exhibitors in our current Pop-Up Rock Paper Scissors in the Stables at Houghton Hall - until 26 September. His watercolours of Norfolk landscapes around Brundell were chosen by life-long friend and singer, Marianne Faithfull to adorn her recent album of poetry "She Walks in Beauty", produced by composer Warren Ellis (a Bad Seed if there ever was one!). The album is beautifull, Faithfull is luminous.
The exhibition includes limited edition prints of his atmospheric watercolours used on the album sleeve artwork and we are selling a selection of original collage works on paper also by Colin Self.
