This piece is inspired by the Fenland landscape itself. With its man-made geometric field systems, straight lines and architectural form it is almost the antithesis of nature and our image of the counrtyside. Mankind’s hand is evident everywhere. Hand-pierced parallel lines suggest tracks of machinery, the curves are a cross-section of drainage channels .
The bog oak used dates from 3300BC and originates from the Fens.
