Keron Beattie

Keron works sculpturally in several media including metal and glass. He prefers to recycle objects, viewing them afresh, bringing new meaning to fragmented elements using traditional tools and techniques.

Keron has several strands to his sculpture. A common concern has been with fragmentation, remaking or redefining disparate components, bringing them together to achieve wholeness. He sees potential in unusual materials that indicate a state of flux, change or transformation.
Keron’s approach to sculpture is frequently led by thinking about found and recycled objects, using traditional manual tools and employing techniques that require a specific set of skills like glass cutting and lead work or jewellery making to pull off what he wants in each work.
