This item is made to order and will be delivered within 2-3 weeks of an order being taken. Please ntoe that each piece is unique so newly ordered pieces will be a similar size but individual marks will differ.
Steven works and lives between the wild heaths, coast and meandering estuaries of the Suffolk Coast. A connection to and an immersion in nature informs all of his practice.
Locally dug beach clays, Coraline crag (a kind of sandstone unique to the area), fossils, wood ash and especially plants find their way into or onto Steven ceramics and printmaking. Steven takes an experimental approach to his work and loves to develop and discover new processes.
Originally trained in botany, Steven discovered ceramics after many years as a market gardener, initially as something to do in the quiet winter season. Art foundation and a distinction from the CityLit Ceramics Diploma followed and he set up a studio near Orford in Suffolk 10 years ago, where he is still based.
