New work by Joni Smith and Ruth Howes
Ruth Howes installation at Houghton Hall, 2019We are showcasing the work of artists who employ paper cutting at the core of their practice. Both are Norwich based. Joni Smith bases her work on mapping and topography and has produced intricate cut town scapes of Wells, King's Lynn as well as Italy and Spain incorporating knotted ropes. Ruth Howes cuts paper plans of buildings - Holkham and Houghton Halls feature strongly and her cut schematic of the Houses of Parliament features paper figures jumping off the terrace into the Thames.
